Trip to Buffalo

In October, we went to Buffalo to celebrate my grandma's 90th birthday.  On Friday, we took the girls to Niagara Falls.  We lucked out with unusually warm weather, which made it a great day for the Falls.  Maddie was in awe when we got there.  We even saw a beautiful rainbow!

That night we hung out with everyone at the Woj's house for a traditional Buffalo fish fry.  Here is Emmie with a picture of my cousin Meghan when she was 2 years old.  Emmie looks so much like Meghan did at 2, so we had her hold a picture of Meghan.  Maddie resembles Katie and so when Joanne and Mark see our girls, it's like a flashback for them of when Katie and Meghan were little.  Now they're in college!

Mark, the toy creator, created his own Halloween costume inspired by the 80's band Devo.

Here is Devo.  They sang "Whip It" and wore these crazy hats.  So funny!

The next day we had a lovely meal at a restaurant to celebrate my Grandma's 90th birthday.  Not everyone could be there, but it was nice to honor her and have many of my Dad's side of the family together.  Most importantly to me, I was so happy my dad made it!

"All because two people fell in love..."  And just think, there are about 17 people missing!

Wahoowa!

We finally took the girls to UVA!  I had really been wanting to take them down to see the campus and so we decided to make a day of it and go to a football game.  We could not have ordered up a more gorgeous day of weather.  Fall is such a beautiful time there.  We arrived in town, parked on the Corner, got sandwiches and ate lunch on the lawn.  Then we headed to the game which was pathetic.  It was a blowout. The girls just wanted to eat candy, so we only stayed for 3 quarters.  Then we took them to one of our favorite places, Zazus, to eat wraps for dinner.  Emersyn had a meltdown over a fountain drink and we all hit the wall.  When we got in the car to head home, Emersyn was grumpy, Chris and I were out of patience, and Maddie was sick of Emmie's whining.  Just when I thought we were crazy for dragging them all over campus, Emmie provided some comic relief.  Maddie looked over toward her side of the car and Emmie shouted back, "No Maddie!  Don't look at my window!  That's my special window!!!"  It was so ridiculous, we all just started cracking up.  It was worth it.  And I have the pictures to prove it :)
