"Shrekfast" - Breakfast with Shrek at the Gaylord

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to the Gaylord National Resort at National Harbor.  We had never been down there before and it is awesome.  The hotel is beautiful and it was all decorated for the holidays.  We went with the Baumgartners who have gone a few years in a row now, so we just followed their lead.  On Friday, we did the ICE show which is a display of massive colored ice sculptures in the Shrek theme, complete with slides made out of ice!  It is 9 degrees inside this tent-like structure and a very unique experience.  Then we had an awesome dinner and swam in the hotel pool.  Well, the guys swam with the kids while Michelle and I stayed dry.  That night we gathered in the atrium area to see the fountain light show that they do during the holidays set to music.  After the music ended and we never saw the fountains, we found out there was a broken pipe.  Well this, combined with the fact that the Baumgartners had a mix up with their room, prompted Michelle to call and work some magic.  She scored free tickets to the Shrek character breakfast for all 8 of us the next morning!  It was really cute with green "swamp juice", Shrek waffles, tons of food and character greetings with Shrek, Fiona, and Puss in Boots.

My camera wasn't charged (ugh) on Friday so I only got pictures on Saturday at the breakfast.

Great Nana's Birthday

We had a beautiful Fall day in PA at my Nana's house to celebrate her birthday.  Aunt Rere made the trip up from Florida again!  Looking back on this year in pictures, we sure did see a lot of her :)  Aiden and his new baby sister, Adelyn, were there and the kids had a blast playing in the leaves.  Well, Adelyn just stayed cozy in the Moby wrap!  Andie was working hard to stay upright and keep up with the big kids.  This little group of great-grandkids keeps growing and it's fun to see them all do the fun things at Nana's house that we did growing up.  Great Nana's leaves are never-ending!

Fall Pictures

On election day, we got all ready to go vote and for some reason Madeline decided she wanted to wear a dress.  Then she picked out a skirt for Emersyn and even accesorized with a scarf.  It was a nice sunny day and after voting I decided to head to Morven Park (a scenic park near us) and shoot some pictures since they were dressed up.  Emmie was being a bit of a stinker, but I ended up with some good ones which I used for our Christmas card.  Here are the keepers from the day.
