Many know of Maddie's adoration for the movie Sound of Music. She loves the wedding scene with Maria walking down the aisle. She said she wanted to be a bride for Halloween last year and pretends all the time that she's a bride, so when my cousin Brittany asked Maddie to be the flower girl in her wedding, the excitement started building. I explained to Madeline that Brittany is the bride and would be wearing a beautiful dress and she could wear a pretty white dress too (turned out she was a girl in a white dress with a blue satin sash) and get to walk down the aisle like Maria. We practiced lots and it paid off.
Brittany and Geoff's wedding was this past Saturday and it was a great weekend. Brittany was a beautiful bride and with coordinating teal sashes, they looked beautiful together. Madeline walked down the aisle and dropped her rose petals as if it was her job. She was such a good girl all weekend; she made us very proud. This was my mom's side of the family, and we had lots of fun with all the Riordans. It was our first wedding with Maddie with us the whole time at the reception and she loved it! She ate three plates of appetizers (fruit, cheese, crackers, etc.) and then her kid's meal, which gave her lots of energy to be the first one on the dance floor. She LOVED being out there dancing and we loved dancing with her. She even joined in on the Electric Slide (with my help) and really tried to listen and do the Cha Cha Slide. My favorite song they played was My Girl, to which of course Chris and Maddie danced together. Click here to see an older video post of Maddie singing that song.
She finally crashed at about 10:30 which is way past her bedtime. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the wedding. Congratulations Brittany and Geoff!
