Bahamas Trip

Chris and I were lucky enough to get away to the Bahamas for 5 days in April.  We had wanted to take a trip for our 10th wedding anniversary, but the timing didn't work out last year.  So this year, we celebrated 20 years of being together instead!  The trip was made possible by Grandma and Nana tag-teaming to watch the girls and by Samantha who hooked us up with a great rate at the Sheraton in Nassau.  The only glitch was a mechanical problem on our plane on the way down which required us to land in Ft. Lauderdale for 5 hours.  We missed the whole first day, but it turned out in rained anyway.  Plus, we actually had some good laughs in the airport watching an older couple try to get their suitcase down to 50 lbs.  The suitcase was about 15 lbs. over the limit and they were determined to get it down to 50 lbs.!  We did exactly what we planned to do...RELAX!

We had an awesome dinner at Bobby Flay's restaurant Mesa at Atlantis.  We watch Food Network a lot so it was cool to go to one of his restaurants.  Deeelish!

We pretended we were in our twenties again and hit the bar at Senor Frogs.  Had to get some pics in these funny chairs :)

Our favorite drink that we made in our room every day!

20 years...time flies when you're having fun!

The Terrific (Tiring) Ten!

We started as the Fab Five in college and we are now a much bigger group.  Counting our husbands and kids, we are 20 now!  Typically, our hubbies do not join in on the chaos.  Of couse, whoever's house we go to gets the privilege of witnessing our craziness :)  This time Brian was the lucky one as we all descended upon Shelley's beautiful home and neighborhood in South Carolina.  Shelley's third, little Lainey was born in October and we all wanted to meet her.  And we had to get in a visit with Jess before she moves to Hawaii!!!  So now instead of just the Fab Five, we called the kids the Terrific Ten.  That was at th start of the visit.  By the end, the name Tiring Ten seemed more fitting.  They were all great, but putting 10 kids together for 3 days always brings a bit of chaos.  We didn't even leave the neighborhood but had a fun-filled time including an egg hunt, pizza and roasting marshmallows, a LONG walk around the gorgeous neighborhood, the playground, a visit to the stables to see Lourdes's pony Teddy, and the pool!  And most importantly, we got to all be together.  I cherish every moment with these girls and their kids.  They are all growing up fast and they will only be little once.  And then once they aren't little, we will do a ladies only trip to NYC, a spa, anywhere.  But for now, we'll enjoy the chaos!

Here is our attempt at a group shot of the kids with their UVA shirts.  Everyone cooperated except Emersyn (very out of character for her).  In the moment, I was very disappointed and frustrated we couldn't get a good picture.  But now looking back, these pictures are priceless.  I couldn't pick just one!

Love how Maddie is trying to hold her in place with her foot!

Easter 2012

It was a pretty typical Easter this year.  Of course there was egg coloring and decorating and egg hunts.  We did go up to my Nana's the day before and spent the day with family there.  Maddie always loves seeing her second cousin Aiden.  And of course, it was Andie's first Easter so that was fun too!  Easter Sunday we went to Mass, then had a nice breakfast at our favorite little cafe.  After our egg hunt at home, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner and another egg hunt.  It was a great weekend!
